Bridgett Szychulski, 31, of the 3800 block of Nedla Road in Millbrook, will be arraigned in Bucks County Common Pleas Court in Doylestown on Dec. 19. A trial date has not been set.

She is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child under 16, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault with a child under 16 and indecent assault. The crimes allegedly occurred between January and June 2012 when the victim was a 14-year-old Lenape Middle School student. Szychulski was a band instructor there at the time.

The boy told authorities in September that he and Szychulski had sex at least three times, including once in her car and twice at Lenape. The teacher also sent sexually explicit text messages and photos of herself to the same boy, authorities allege. The encounters did not continue after the 2011–12 school year.

Szychulski was band director at Central Bucks South High School at the time of her September arrest. She has been suspended from her job and is banned from school property or having contact with children other than her own. She is free on $500,000 bail. ••
